  • Dog Fights
    • The key to dog fights is prevention.  The Dog Spot Petcare, Inc. does not accept aggressive dogs.  Our thorough interview process screens for aggression.  If an accepted dog exhibits unacceptable behavior, the dog is given a timeout and the owner is informed of the concern.  The Dog Spot Petcare, Inc. will work with the owner to resolve the problem or the dog will be asked to not return to daycare.
    • All staff members are also certified Pet Care Technicians through PCSA, are American Red Cross Pet First Aid/CPR certified and work daily with staff dog trainer/behaviorist to keep your dog safe, clean and well cared for.

  • Dog Injuries or Illnesses
    • All dogs are constantly supervised and monitored, however, should any dog become sick or injured during their stay, The Dog Spot Petcare, Inc. will take the dog to one of the vets listed below.  Owners will be responsible for any bills and or fees incurred by a visit to the veterinarian in the case of an emergency.
    • Daily wellness checks are performed at 8am, 11am, 4pm & 8pm to ensure each dogs safety and continuous care.  It is the responsibility of The Dog Spot Petcare, Inc. staff to provide quality care to the dogs in our daycare and boarding environment at all times.  Hourly observation and wellness checks are required daily looking for cuts, scrapes, eye/ear infections, Papillomavirus, diarrhea, abnormal behavior, etc.

  • Dog Supervision
    • The dogs are constantly supervised by a 15:1 dog/employee ratio.  Inappropriate play is stopped and good behavior is rewarded.  The staff keeps the dogs safe, clean and well cared for.  They are never left alone.  Check out our LIVE Doggie-Cams so that you can watch your playful pooch during the day too!!

  • Failing the Interview or being Evicted from Daycare
    • Failing the interview process or being evicted from daycare does happen but it’s not the end of the world.  The Dog Spot Petcare, Inc. wants to do what’s best for all the dogs in our care.  If your dog fails the interview, it does not mean we don’t care about your dog.  This unique environment may just be too overwhelming.  Some dogs just need a little training and socialization before coming to daycare.

  • Dogs that are Shy or Growl Sometimes
    • Complete the interview process.  If your dog doesn’t pass the first time, we can suggest a training class to help teach more appropriate dog-to-dog interactions.  If your dog is shy, don’t worry.  All first timers go through an orientation process so they can meet all the dogs in small groups on their first day.  This helps them adjust.  Try a half day to keep your dog’s stress level low.  Give your dog a couple really good treats on your way in the door.  Don’t act nervous, or your dog will become more nervous.  If you are planning on boarding, do a couple daycare sessions first so they can get adjusted before their long stay.

  • Food
    • All food is owner supplied to maintain consistency in your dog’s diet.  If your dog is here for daycare, and you wish for your dog to have lunch, bring your own container or baggie with their name on it.  Dogs are not given anything you don’t supply or approve.  Most dogs do fine without lunch but it is your choice.  There is no food allowed in the daycare play areas so all dogs are separated and fed individually.

  • Toys or Beds
    • Do not bring toys or beds for daycare, but for overnight boarders you can bring anything you like to make your dog feel more at home as those items stay in their individual kennels.
    • The Dog Spot Petcare, Inc. supplies safe toys for the scheduled “toy time” and “tennis ball play” in the daycare environment.  These sessions are at scheduled times and controlled by the staff so that dogs do not become toy possessive or aggressive.  Dog daycare is for group play, interaction, socialization and exercise!

  • Collars and Leashes
    • All dogs must have a collar with a tag that has your current contact info on it, as well as the dog’s name.  We will remove your dog’s collar and leash when entering the play area to prevent collars getting caught up during play.  All of your dog’s items will be hung on their personal hook with your dog’s name and picture on it.

  • Water
    • There is ALWAYS plenty of fresh water available to your dog!
