About the Owner
Owner Lisa M. Dwyer, a long-time animal lover and advocate, created The Dog Spot in 2005 in response to the growing need for a professionally managed doggie daycare and boarding facility. Lisa has always had a great love for dogs, however, it was when she met a Jack Russell Terrier named Emma that she discovered her unique connection with dogs. Through Emma, Lisa discovered the incredible depth of the human and animal bond. She was determined to pursue a career developing and understanding that relationship as well as improving the quality of life for as many dogs as possible.
Through extensive research and hands on experience, Lisa has gained in depth knowledge through working with current clients & trainers, studying books, magazines, news articles, as well as attending personal training classes, the ABKA certification training, seminars and conventions. Lisa has attended ABKA seminars throughout the years covering the following topics:

Lisa and her staff also dedicate their time to working with local rescue organizations and shelters including Great Lakes Lab Rescue where she provides foster care through The Dog Spot Petcare, Inc. for dogs that are in need of a good loving home. Since many loving families utilize the services of The Dog Spot Petcare, Inc., it doesn't take long to find wonderful homes for these dear pets.
With many families having long workdays and many hours away from home, pet owners will feel comforted knowing that love, socialization, interaction and exercise are being provided to their furry family members all day every day.
About our Facility
The Dog Spot Petcare, Inc. provides doggie daycare and overnight boarding services in a fun, safe and clean environment for dogs to exercise, socialize and receive lots of love and attention! The Dog Spot Petcare, Inc. is a 13,000 square foot facility with an 8,400 square foot indoor play area as well as a 2,100 square foot fenced-in outdoor play area to allow plenty of exercise and playtime for our guests.
Our climate controlled facility offers doggie daycare for the pets of owners wishing to drop them off in the morning and pick them up in the evening. FREE puppy play-time to help build socialization skills, overnight boarding for travelers, grooming and pampering, onsite & in-home obedience training and a taxi service are also available. Overnight guests play in the daycare center during the day and are kenneled individually at night. Have your pet conveniently pampered all in one place, under one WOOF!
The Dog Spot Petcare, Inc. is a member of PCSA (Pet Care Services Association) and NADDA (North American Dog Daycare Association). All team members are certified PCSA Pet Care Technicians, American Red Cross Pet First Aid/CPR Certified and work hands-on with our dog trainers to keep your dog safe, clean and well cared for. Our facility is licensed by the city and the Illinois Department of Agriculture Bureau of Animal Welfare. We are inspected on a regular basis receiving only the highest available ratings. The Dog Spot Petcare, Inc. also comes highly recommended by many area vets, trainers, pet sitters, pet boutiques and groomers.
